Rocky Mountain National Park Services

There are virtually no commercial activities within Rocky Mountain National Park. Fortunately though, Grand Lake is conveniently located at the west entrance to the park, serving as the “Western Gateway” to Rocky Mountain National Park. Grand Lake is pleased to provide plenty of lodging, dining, activities, and other commercial options to park visitors.

Lodging

Grand Lake is the ideal location for overnight visitors who want to stay as close as possible to Rocky Mountain National Park. With a variety of lodging options in Grand Lake, there really is something for everyone. Visitors may select from Grand Lake’s lodges, inns, cabins, bed-and-breakfasts, hotels, motels, and even private homes for rent. From mountain rustic to leisurely and luxurious, Grand Lake has lodging options to suit every style.

Dining

Grand Lake offers dozens of dining options, with a variety of restaurants to suit every taste. From a fun snack to fine dining, Grand Lake has it all: steakhouses, Mexican, pizza, BBQ, bar-and-grills, cafes, delis, and even ice cream shops are among the many flavors of Grand Lake. Many of these dining options are even available right along Grand Lake’s historic boardwalk downtown. Since there are no restaurants within Rocky Mountain National Park, dining in Grand Lake is a conveniently delicious choice for hungry park visitors. Bring an appetite!

Activities

For those who want to experience all the activities that Rocky Mountain National Park has to offer, Grand Lake is the perfect place to start (and end) your adventure. Guided horseback tours into the park are available from Grand Lake. Guided fishing trips are also available for those who want to fish in the park’s pristine waters. Many different hiking, biking, climbing, camping, and other activities are available in Grand Lake and on the west side of Rocky Mountain National Park as well.

Some of the park’s most scenic drives, including the incredible Trail Ridge Road, begin and end in Grand Lake. Ranger-led programs are also available at the park’s visitor centers, such as the Kawuneeche Visitor Center and the Timber Creek Campground Amphitheater, which are located on the west side of the park.
