Town Beautification Day June 3rd

Town Beautification Day

Come join us on Saturday, June 3rd, 2017 at Heckert Pavilion in Town Square Park! Town Beautification Day activities (9 AM to 11 AM) will be your chance to pitch-in on any number of spruce-up tasks. Volunteers are needed. The CommunityBBQ/Potluck (10:30 AM to 11:30 AM) will be a chance to socialize with friends new and old. The Arbor Day Celebration (about 11:30 AM) will be held following the BBQ at the Grand lake Center.

Town Beautification Day is an annual event formerly known as Town Clean-up Day. The Town has embraced this event as a grand opportunity for the Grand Lake community to come together to spruce up the Town to make way for the sunny days of spring and summer. The entire community (adults and children, year-round residents, business owners, second home owners, nonprofit organizations, and anyone else who loves Grand Lake) are encouraged to get involved and continue the community engagement and collaboration efforts. All participants in the Town Beautification Day activities will receive a tree seedling to plant at a later date, the trees will arrive after the event.  A sign up sheet will be located at the Heckert Pavilion.

Prizes will be awarded for the Most Interesting find, the Most Valuable find and for the Youngest Volunteer Trash Collector.

A Community BBQ/potluck, sponsored by the Grand Lake Lodge, will immediately follow at Heckert Pavilion in Town Square Park. If you cannot make the Town Beautification Day activities, come to the BBQ anyway! Bring your favorite side dish and a smile! Soup, hamburgers, veggie burgers, hot dogs along with condiments and the paper/plastic goods will be provided. All we need is you and a side dish!  Many thanks to Grand Lake Lodge!

Grand Lake’s Arbor Day Celebration will be held at the Grand Lake Center, the former Grand Lake Elementary School, after the BBQ. There will be a short ceremony to recognize the value of trees and forested land to the Grand Lake community and promote the care, maintenance and diversification of our community forest led by the Colorado State Forest Service.

Come one, come all! It will be lots of fun on June 3rd in Grand Lake. If you live or work in town, plan your day to join in! If you live and work elsewhere, plan to come to Grand Lake for the weekend – join in with us on Saturday morning and kickback the rest of the weekend in our mountain paradise! Do not miss out on this grand opportunity to make a difference in Grand Lake!
